Quote of the week!
Courtesy of Harper Lee, author of the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”, an examination of empathy in 1960s society through the impressionable eyes of a child, Scout. Still as relevant today as it was then. This quote is from Scouts father Atticus, who strives to teach children the moral value of empathy as an essential component of civilised humanity.
Empathy requires us to step outside ourselves and our own preconceptions. To truly walk in another’s shoes, to wear their skin, to feel what they feel. Next time you feel yourself judging another, stop, breathe and try to find true empathy before you pass your final judgement ❤️
